The Modi government has given the general elections to crores of rupees in a big way. Many political and economic analysts are treating it as an anecdote of the trump card thrown by the Modi Government to attract large numbers of voters. Now, in the exit polls, there can be a break on the happiness of the opposition parties, and the decision of the Modi cabinet is likely to come in favor of the government.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced on Monday that many major changes will be made in the National Pension Scheme (NPS) today. The central cabinet has approved 5 changes in the new pension scheme. According to media reports, the new pension scheme will get EEE status which means that it will be totally tax free. These changes in NPS will be applicable from next financial year (01 April 2019).

The government has increased its contribution to NPS by 4 percent to 14 percent of basic salary. At present, government and employees contribute 10-10 percent in NPS. For the NPS, the minimum contribution of employees will remain 10 percent, for this, the tax exemption under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act has also been approved.

60 percent of the amount drawn after retirement has been tax-free, which is only 40% right now. Employee was demanding for a long time. Government employees were allowed to transfer or withdraw 60% of the total fund, which is currently 40%. Employees will get bigger returns and they will be able to use more money.

What would happen

EEE means (exempt-execute-excimpt) mean (discount, rebate, rebate). Getting EEE status means that at the three stages of this scheme; There will be no tax on investment, interest and maturity. Now NPS will also get tax relief like Public Provident Fund (PPF). Anyone can open a PPF account and can make tax savings by depositing money in it, now the benefit of this can be found on NPS also.
