कुरुक्षेत्र

कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्ध में मारे गए सैनिकों और योद्धाओं के शव या अस्थियां इसलिए हासिल नहीं हुई होंगी क्योंकि आज के दौर में भले ही मारे गए दुश्मन के शव के दुर्व्यवहार किया जाता हो लेकिन पहले ऐसा नहीं होता था।



महाभारत का युद्ध

महाभारत का युद्ध दिन ढलते ही रोक दिया जाता था तो जो जिन लोगों के शव भूमि पर होते थे उनका अंतिम संस्कार किया जाता होगा या फिर उनके शवों को उनके परिवार को सौंप दिया जाता होगा। अंतिम संस्कार के बाद तो सिर्फ राख ही बचती है।उत्तरायन के दिन जब भीष्म पितामाह ने अपनी अंतिम सांस ली थी, उस दिन युद्ध समाप्त होने के बाद कुरुक्षेत्र की भूमि को जला दिया गया था। ऐसा इसलिए किया गया था ताकि हर मृत योद्धा को स्वर्ग में जगह मिले और उनके शवों का शुद्धिकरण हो जाए।



महाभारत के युद्ध में बहुत कुछ हुआ था जिस पर विश्वास करना कठिन है। शायद यही वजह है कि आज भी बहुत से लोग इसे कल्पनाओं का परिणाम करार देते हैं।
