इस क्रिकेटर पर खराब व्यवहार के लिए खुद पर लगे दो साल के प्रतिबंध के खिलाफ अपील की थी। अपील समिति की सिफारिश पर मामलें के लंबित रहने तक आरोपी खिलाड़ियों को घरेलु गतिविधियों में शामिल होने की अनुमति दी जाएगी।





जनवरी में प्रथम श्रेणी मैच में दोनों टीमों के खिलाड़ियों पर लगा था प्रतिबंध

इसी मामलें को लेकर श्रीलंका क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने पिछले महीने अपने बयान में कहा था कि

“जनवरी में पनाडुरा क्रिकेट क्लब और कालुतरा फिजिकल कल्चर क्लब के बीच प्रथम श्रेणी मैच खेल भावना के अंतर्गत नहीं खेला गया था। दोनों टीमों के कप्तान चमारा सिल्वा और मनोज देशाप्रिया को सभी क्रिकेट संबंधित गतिविधियों से 2 साल के लिए प्रतिबंधित कर दिया गया था जबकि दूसरे खिलाड़ियों और मैनेजरों को एक साल के लिए प्रतिबंधित कर दिया था। साथ ही दोनों क्लबों पर 5-5 लाख रूपये का जुर्माना लगाया था और उस मैच को अमान्य करार दे दिया था।”
