इस कार को बनाने वाली कंपनी वॉटरकार की वेबसाइट के अनुसार उन्होंने 1999 में दुनिया का सबसे तेज ‘ऐम्फिबस वीइकल’ बनाने की सोची थी. ऐम्फिबस वीइकल का मतलब होता है ऐसी गाड़ी जो जमीन और पानी दोनों पर चल सके.



वेबसाइट के अनुसार वॉटरकार के पाइथन मॉडल ने जनवरी 2010 में पानी पर सबसे तेज गति से चलने के लिए गिनेस बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रेकॉर्ड में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया था.



कंपनी के अनुसार 14 साल में तमाम असफलताएं झेलने के बाद उन्होंने 27 पेटंट्स हासिल कर यह कार बनाई. पहली वॉटरकार जो पब्लिक को ऑफर की गई थी उसे वैली बॉडिवर्क्स नाम की एक बेहद ही बड़ी कंपनी के टॉप के इंजिनियर्स और डिजाइनर्स ने बनाया था.



अभी जो वॉटरकार नजर आ रही है वह कंपनी की लेटस्ट डिवेलपमेंट पैंथर कार है. कंपनी के मुताबिक 2013 तक उन्होंने वॉटरकार पैंथर में सारे जरूरी सुधार कर लिए थे. इसके बाद ही उन्होंने इसे बिक्री के लिए उतारा था.



पैंथर का वजन 1338 किलोग्राम है. इसकी लंबाई 180 इंच और चौड़ाई 72 इंच है.



पानी पर पैंथर की अधिकतम स्पीड लगभग 70 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा है जबकि जमीन पर यह वॉटरकार लगभग 90 किलोमीटर/घंटे की रफ्तार से दौड़ सकती है.



इस वॉटरकार में अधिकतम 4 लोग बैठ सकते हैं.



पैंथर में होंडा का 3.7-लीटर वीटीईसी इंजन लगा हुआ है. कार का ट्रांसमिशन 4-स्पीड मैनुअल है.



कार के ब्रेक्स फोर वील डिस्क है और वील रिट्रैक्शन हाइड्रॉलिक है.



वॉटरकार की पैंथर कार में ईंधन के रूप में 91 ऑक्टेन पंप गैस का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.



कार का इंटीरियर भी शानदार है. इस कार में बैठे लोग आसानी से बड़े से बड़ा बंप झेल सकेत हैं. कार में ऑफ रोड सस्पेंशन सीट्स लगी हुईं हैं.



इस वॉटरकार की सीटें स्टेनलेस स्टील की बनी हुईं हैं. कंपनी के अनुसार कार को आरामदायक बनाने के लिए हाई-क्वॉलिटी मटीरियल का इस्तेमाल किया गया है.



वॉटरकार पैंथर को खरीदने के लिए आपको मोटी रकम खर्च करनी पड़ेगी.



इस कार के टर्न की माइनस एडिशन की कीमत लगभग 80 लाख रुपये है. जबकि इसका कंप्लीट कस्टम मॉडल लगभग 97 लाख रुपये में आता है.
