तमिलनाडु के तूतीकोरिन में पिछले एक महीने से वेदांता की स्टरलाइट कॉपर यूनिट को बंद करने की मांग को लेकर हो रहे प्रदर्शन में मंगलवार को 11 लोगों की मौत हो गई। कई लोगों के घायल होने की भी खबर है। सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए दुकानें बंद कर दी गईं हैं और तूतीकोरिन में 5000 पुलिसकर्मी तैनात किए गए है। पूरे जिले में धारा 144 लागू कर दी गई है। वहीं डीएमके नेता एमके स्टालिन ने सवाल खड़े करते हुए कहा कि प्रदर्शनकारियों पर पुलिस गोलीबारी का आदेश किसने किया! स्टालिन ने एक के बाद एक ट्वीट कर सरकार और प्रशासन को निशाने पर लिया। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, ‘प्रदर्शनकारियों पर पुलिस गोलीबारी का आदेश किसने किया! भीड़ को तितर-बितर के लिए स्वचालित हथियार क्यों इस्तेमाल किए गए और किस कानून के तहत इसकी अनुमति दी गई! घातक चोटों से बचने के लिए रबड़/प्लास्टिक के बुलेट या अन्य साधन क्यों उपयोग नहीं किए गए! फायरिंग से पहले कोई चेतावनी क्यों नहीं दी गई थी!उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, ‘स्टरलाइट विरोध के दौरान कानून और व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए पर्याप्त पुलिस क्यों नहीं थी! क्या यह कहना सही है कि ये स्टेट इंटेलिजेंस की विफलता थी जिसके कारण ये दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण मौतें हुईं! क्या आईजी-इंटेलिजेंस ने पुलिस और मुख्यमंत्री को स्थिति का विवरण दिया!’ 11 तमिलों की क्रूर हत्या के लिए किसकी जवाबदेही है! कानून और व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में विफल होने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री डीजीपी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करेंगे! क्या मुख्य सचिव इस पूरे एपिसोड में अपनी भूमिका की व्याख्या करेंगे
