इन छोटी मगर महत्वपूर्ण पारियों की बदौलत पंजाब 153 रन बनाने में सफल रही।चेन्नई के लिए लुंगी नगिडी ने 4 विकेट लिए।उन्होंने 4 ओवर में मात्र 10 रन दिए

जवाब में उतरी चेन्नई की भी शुरुआत खराब रही।27 रन तक पहुंचते पहुंचते 3 विकेट आउट हो गए।उसके बाद रैना नाबाद 61 और दीपक चाहर 39 ने टीम को मजबूत किया।अंत मे धोनी ने अपने स्टाइल में छक्का मार कर टीम को जीता दिया

इस तरह टूर्नामनेट से पंजाब बाहर हो गयी।टीम की मालकिन प्रीति के लिए यह दिल तोड़ने वाली हार थी।इस सीजन की शुरुआत में पंजाब बहुत ही मजबूत टीम थी

गेल और राहुल की शानदार फार्म से लग रहा था कि टीम इस बार जरूर कुछ कमाल करेगी।लेकिन अनावश्यक प्रयोगों से टीम मालिकिन प्रीति और कोच सहवाग में मतभेद उभर आये।और यह विवाद टीम के लिए सही नही रहा।और इसका नतीजा टीम को लीग स्टेज से ही बाहर हो कर भुगतना पड़ा
