On Thursday, the environmental regulator of Tamilnadu stopped supplying power to the Sterlite copper plant. 11 people died this week after the conflict between police and protesters. The Home Ministry has sought a report from the Tamil Nadu government on the incident of Tuticorin, where 11 people were killed on Tuesday in police firing in protest against the Sterlite Industries of Vedanta.



The Madras High Court has asked the state government to keep the bodies of 11 people killed in police firing on Tuesday. The Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board said that the renewal of operating license was discontinued, last week the activity of starting production without any permission was found. The board said in an order Wednesday, the issue of renewal of consent for the year 2018-2023 has been rejected due to compliance with certain conditions.





After obtaining environmental clearance from the Central Government, developers need the permission of the State Pollution Control Board to set up and operate the plants. On Wednesday, the Madras High Court ordered a ban on the extension of the plant and directed that a public hearing should be held. In 2013, the Supreme Court imposed a fine of 100 crores on Sterlite for environmental damage from 1997 to 2012.

मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय ने राज्य सरकार से मंगलवार को पुलिस गोलीबारी में मारे गए 11 लोगों के शवों को रखने के लिए कहा है। तमिलनाडु राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड ने कहा कि ऑपरेटिंग लाइसेंस के नवीनीकरण को बंद कर दिया गया था, पिछले हफ्ते बिना किसी अनुमति के उत्पादन शुरू करने के गतिविधि पाया गया था। बोर्ड ने बुधवार को एक आदेश में कहा, वर्ष 2018-2023 के लिए सहमति के नवीनीकरण के मुद्दे को कुछ शर्तों के अनुपालन के कारण अस्वीकार कर दिया गया है।





केंद्र सरकार से पर्यावरण मंजूरी मिलने के बाद डेवलपर्स को पौधों की स्थापना और संचालन के लिए राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड की अनुमति की आवश्यकता होती है। बुधवार को मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय ने संयंत्र के विस्तार पर रोक लगाने का आदेश दिया और निर्देश दिया कि एक सार्वजनिक सुनवाई आयोजित की जाए। 2013 में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 1997 से 2012 के बीच होने वाली पर्यावरणीय क्षति के लिए स्टरलाइट पर 100 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया था।
